Francis Ngannou Steal The Show After Defeating Curtis Blaydes In Just 44 Seconds Of Round 1
Rising Heavyweight contender Curtis Blaydes squared off against formal rival Francis Ngannou for the second time today (Saturday, November 24, 2018) from inside Cadillac Arena in Beijing, China. In there first fight Ngannou defeated Blaydes via second-round TKO back in April of 2016.
Blaydes enter into this contest with a five-fight win streak, his most recent win was a third-round TKO (elbows) victory over Alistair Overeem at UFC 225 earlier in June of 2018.
Meanwhile, Ngannou enters into this bout with a two-fight losing streak. His most recent defeat came at UFC 226, where Derrick Lewis defeated ‘The Predator’ via unanimous decision. The showdown was heavily criticized by the media and labeled as an uneventful contest.
In the round one of the UFC Fight Night 141 main headliner, Francis Ngannou opens the fight with a lighting big low kick. Blaydes moves forward and launches a combination. He tries for a takedown, but Ngannou fended the attempt nicely. ‘The Predator’ hurled a big right hand that knocked Blaydes down, ‘Razor’ crashing face first into the canvas. Blaydes tries to get back up but Ngannou rains down him with more strong punches. After a few ground and pound strikes referee stepped in to wave off the action. what a performance by Ngannou.
“It’s been a hard time, but listen man, I’m back,” Ngannou told Dan Hardy in his post-fight interview.
“2018 was a hard year for me. I found myself. I had to settle what wasn’t settled yet. I had to grow as a fighter and by the end of the year…I have learned more in this year than I have in my whole career.”
