Master and teen division athletes competed at the recently concluded 2021 International Powerlifting League (IPL) drug tested World Championships in Costa Mesa, California, USA. 17year-old powerlifter Jack Bartlett broke two world records and also set the all-time world record for raw squat en route to a gold medal finish.
Competing in the Teen 16-17 division and 140kg weight class, Jack Bartlett set the all-time world record for raw squat of 317.5kg (700lbs) in the division. In addition to that, he set the IPL world record for 275kg (606.3lbs) deadlift and a total of 752.5kg (1659lbs) in the Junior division (15-19).

Bartlett went a perfect nine for nine at the event and here are the stats for his gold medal finish:
Squat – 317.5kg (700lbs) – All-Time World Record (Teen 16-17)
Bench – 160kg (352.7lbs)
Deadlift – 275kg (606.3lbs) – IPL World Record (Junior 15-19)
Total – 752.5kg (1659lbs) – IPL World Record (Junior 15-19)
The previous world record for raw squat in the 140kg weight class of Teen 16-17 division belonged to Max Shethar. He set the world record for 290kg (639.3lbs) squat at the 2019 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) Drug Tested Washington State Open. However, Bartlett broke Shethar’s record by a massive 27.5kg (60.6lbs) and the lift was 2.25 times his competition body weight.

Jack Bartlett made his debut at the 2020 USAPL Central Oregon Classic and has competed in eight sanctioned powerlifting events so far. So far, Bartlett has achieved a podium finish in each of the remaining seven competitions. Meanwhile, testimony to Josh Bartnett’s immense potential is the fact that the 17-year-old’s impressive resume includes five gold medals and two silver medal finishes already. However, All of Bartnett’s best stats for individual lifts and total came at the 2021 International Powerlifting League (IPL) drug tested World Championships.
