This weekend’s 2023 Sampson Showdown took over Las Vegas, Nevada over the weekend on March 25. The contest served as a qualifier for this year’s Olympia competition. A number of Wellness pros battled on stage to determine who would kick off the bodybuilding season with considerable momentum.
In accordance with the 2023 Olympia Qualification Guidelines, athletes in the IFBB Pro League can only earn invitations to the Olympia by winning a pro show. It should be noted that the point system has been removed.
As it stands, the top three Wellness finishers from the 2022 Olympia contest are automatically invited back to this year’s competition. Given the growing popularity of the Wellness division, fans were excited to see who would assert themselves as an Olympia contender early on over this weekend.
