Sherine Marcelle has not been in the spotlight as much in the past few months, but her time is only just coming. Sherine, being undoubtedly one of the greatest powerlifters in the world currently, has set standards that are difficult for even herself to achieve. However, after months of training, she has once again reached a new peak in the event that she is best known for — the Squat. This time she lifted more weight than she has ever done before, including during training and competitions. So, Sherine’s new Squat PR stands at 265 kilograms (584.2 pounds), as per the post on her Instagram page.

As the video displays, Sherine Marcelle performed the 265 kilograms (584.2 pounds) in a raw fashion, using nothing but a lifting belt and knee sleeves to aid her. She first unracked the weight and walked a few steps back, where she positioned herself for the squat. Then, after a few deep breaths, Sherine lowered herself and the bar down to a very impressive depth and started pushing it back up. Sherine maintained perfect technique and a straight back throughout the entire lift, standing up easier than would be expected for a new PR.

Sherine Marcelle also stated that she was not able to align all the factors for a good squat in the past few months. So, this PR comes as a massive relief for her since she is finally back to her best.

“After my trip to Canada I got really inspired and got the ok from my coach to take a single and truthfully after struggling for months to find my momentum today did not disappoint.”

Sherine Marcelle’s new 265-kilogram (584.2-pound) raw squat PR is very close to the All-Time World Record in the 90-kilogram weight class. It currently stands at 267.5 kilograms (589.7 pounds), as Samantha Rice set it at the 2023 USA-UA Pioneer on the Beach. Interestingly, Sherine held the record before Samantha, having set it just two weeks before her.

Sherine Marcelle is now once again chasing the record, but this time she wants to raw squat over 600 pounds (272.2 kilograms). It is definitely not impossible, especially if she gets on a streak like she did earlier this year, when she set new squat and deadlift personal records with ease.

Sherine Marcelle has taken part in 14 sanctioned powerlifting competitions since 2016 and won 11 of them. She does not compete too often, which is definitely applicable to this year, as she only competed once back in March. However, she has some big plans for the future, so a lot of excitement awaits.

Sherine Marcelle has recently stated that she plans on competing in around four months, but it is not clear what that competition is. She also plans on taking part in the 2024 Ghost Clash in April of next year, where she will face off against other powerlifters of the highest order. So, it is safe to assume that Sherine will set quite a few PRs in the upcoming month and potentially even some unofficial world records.
