Brazilian fitness and bodybuilding influencer Denis Yoshio was tragically killed Saturday night in Vila Matilde, a district of Sao Paulo, by motorists who quickly fled the scene.
Following the violent ordeal, Yoshio’s brother moved his sibling into a car in an attempt to save his life until a team of firefighters transported him to the Tatuape Municipal Hospital. The gunmen who committed this atrocity are on the run as police have yet to make any arrests related to the incident.
Upon arrival to the hospital, the gunshot victim suffered from cardiac arrest. Yoshio sustained at least one gunshot to his spine. A witness to the event explained that Yoshio was being dropped off at his house to gather money after his car broke down. Heading towards his property, Yoshio was fatally shot.

“I’m nothing without you. Please come home my love,” she wrote on Instagram. “You gave my life meaning. I can’t be far from you. I can’t exist without you. I need to be with you. God help me please.”
“Tell me this is one of your practical jokes please. Don’t leave me here alone.”
In an additional social media post, Amanda confirmed details about Yoshio’s funeral:
“It’s with extreme sadness that we inform you of the death of Denis Yoshio,” she wrote.
“As soon as we have information about his funeral we will let you know.”
Sadly, this wasn’t the first bodybuilding sensation to die from an armed attack by men on motorcycles. The community recently mourned the death of Luis Manuel Lomelí “El Charro,” who was celebrated for his separated lower body development. He was shot and killed while driving his truck on Juan Alonso de Torres Boulevard in Mexico.
In a separate incident recorded on security cameras, bodybuilding champion, Eustácio Batista Dias was murdered in a horrific gym execution in Brazil. Similar to Yoshio’s circumstance, two gunmen killed him in cold blood at point-blank range after he mistakenly revealed his location on Instagram.
With funeral arrangements being arranged, Yoshio’s girlfriend, Amanda Legora, is still processing the gut-wrenching loss. Our team at Fitness Volt hopes to see justice served and extends our deepest and most sincere wishes to his friends and family.
