Hafthor Bjornsson is clearly back to his best, setting new PRs or unofficial world records quite frequently. Well, he has set a clear goal for himself, wanting to win the upcoming 2024 Strongest Man On Earth, which is motivating him to make even more progress. In turn, during his recent training session, Hafthor managed to lift a 260-kilogram (573.2-pound) Atlas Stone, which marked a new Personal Record for him.

Hafthor Bjornsson has always been an incredible stone lifter, but he never had the need to go for a one rep max. However, one of the events at the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth will be the Atlas Stone for maximum weight. So, Hafthor ordered himself a new set of heavier Atlas Stones.

Hafthor Bjornsson warmed up with some lighter stone, which progressively got heavier through the sets. His final warm-up came out to 220 kilograms (485 pounds), and it definitely gave Hafthor some trouble since he had a tough time finding grip, causing the stone to start slipping from his arms.

However, just a few minutes later, Hafthor Bjornsson decided to try to lift a 260-kilogram (573.2-pound) Atlas Stone. Surprisingly, this lift looks much easier than the previous one, despite being 40 kilograms (88.2 pounds) heavier. In turn, Hafthor walked away with a new Personal Record.

It is important to note that Hafthor Bjornsson was sick for two days before setting the Atlas Stone PR, meaning that he could not follow his training or diet plan. Consequently, he was not at his full capacity on the day but still managed to reach an all-time high.

Moreover, Hafthor Bjornsson’s new set of stones is larger in circumference than the ones that will be used at the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth. So, it should be easier for him to lift the stones in competition since they will be easier to grab and hold. Hafthor also hopes to lift a 280-kilogram (617.3-pound) Atlas Stones in the upcoming weeks. This would be just 6 kilograms (13.2 pounds) shy of the World Record.

Hafthor Bjornsson concluded his session by practicing the Fingal Fingers x Power Stairs Medley, which is yet another event that will take place at the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth. This seemed to be going well for him also, proving that he can place high on the majority of events.

Hafthor Bjornsson boasts a very impressive resume consisting of 64 international appearances and 28 victories. He has basically won all of the major competitions, including the World’s Strongest Man, Arnold Strongman Classic, and Europe’s Strongest Man. However, the title of Strongest Man On Earth is still missing, but he is determined to make his debut at the competition a very successful one.

The events at the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth are looking great for Hafthor Bjornsson, whose only weakness seems to be overhead pressing. This stems from his pec tear, which happened during a powerlifting meet last year. Luckily, Hafthor is doing everything to recover his strength, and the progress is evident.
