Gavin Adin has slowly been climbing up the leaderboards, hoping to eventually reach the top. Well, judging by his performance at the 2024 NAPF North American Regional Powerlifting Championships, he won’t have to wait for much longer. Adin competed in the 93-kilogram weight class and achieved some historic milestones, including a new Squat & Total IPF World Records.
Gavin Adin’s Full Performance
Squat
Gavin Adin decided to open up with a 310-kilogram (683.4-pound) squat, getting a feeling for the weight, but also remaining energized for the remainder of his performance. However, it didn’t take long for him to increase the weight by a substantial amount, as he decided to go for a record-breaking 341 kilograms (751.8 pounds) on his second attempt. Unfortunately, he was called for insufficient depth, making his attempt unsuccessful.
With one attempt left, Gavin Adin made a mental reset, coming out on the platform fully focused on the task at hand. The same situation happened once again, with the judges declaring that he failed to squat to depth. However, the jury overturned the decision and revealed that the lift was in fact valid. So, Gavin walked away with a new U93KG Raw Squat IPF World Record.
