The 2025 World Log Lift Challenge took place on October 18th in Glasgow, Scotland. Jack Osborn was the start of the show, outshining a dozen other athletes with his incredible ability to lift mind-blowing amounts of weight above his head. In the end, his heaviest Log Lift came out to 222 kilograms (489.4 pounds), which marked a new British Record.

Jack Osborn performed multiple rounds on the Log Press, but made everything look incredibly easy, which gave him the confidence to go for a new British Record. So, he decided to load 222 kilograms (489.4 pounds), after which he put on a pair of elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, and a lifting belt. Jack then walked out onto the stage, where he was greeted by the cheering of a packed arena in one of Scotland’s biggest cities.

Jack Osborn first had to clean the 222-kilogram (489.4-pound) Log off the floor, which proved to be an easy task, largely because of his near-perfect execution of the technique. Once he got the implement positioned on his shoulders, Jack proceeded to perform the overhead press. Lifting the Log seemed easy for Jack, but the stability nearly proved to be a big problem. Luckily, he managed to take a few steps backward, which helped him regain his balance and complete the lift. So, the judge gave him a down call and made the British Record official.

*Luke Stoltman held the previous British Log Lift Record of 221-kg (487.2-lb), which he set at the 2020 WUS Feats of Strength series.

Jack Osborn is coached by none other than Laurence ‘Big Loz’ Shahlaei, who has led many other athletes to immense success as well. Interestingly, Jack also responded to Laurence’s statements via an Instagram story, stating the following:

“World Record pending under the guidance of the best coach”

So, Jack Osborn has made his goals for the future clear, as he clearly wants to pursue the Log Lift World Record. It is currently held by Cheick ‘Iron Biby’ Sanou and stands at 231 kilograms (509.3 pounds). So, seeing how quick Jack is progressing, as well as the fact that he is just 27 years old currently, the World Record is definitely within his reach.

Jack Osborn has taken part in nine international, national, and regional competitions so far and has managed to get one win at the 2024 Kaos Strongest Man. However, his static strength, especially when it comes to overhead pressing, makes him one of the most interesting Strongmen in the world.

Jack Osborn proved once again that he is one of the greatest overhead pressers in history. For reference, when comparing Jack’s 222-kilogram (489.4-pound) Log Lift British Record to others, we can see that only three men have achieved a heavier lift in a competition. Those are Cheick ‘Iron Biby’ Sanou, the legendary Zydrunas Savickas, and Lucas Hatton. So, with just a bit more improvement, Jack could definitely top the list and secure the World Record.
