Nabil Lahlou is one of the most exciting powerlifters in the world, boasting incredible deadlift power and an electrifying spirit. So, he was one of the standout athletes at the 2025 FFForce French Open Powerlifting Championships on December 20th in La Garde. Nabil appeared in the U74KG weight class and displayed an incredible 330.5-kilogram (728.6-pound) raw deadlift. Consequently, he set a new FFForce French National Record.

Nabil Lahlou opened up with a 310-kilogram (683.4-pound) pull, completing it with ease and increasing the crowd’s anticipation for his remaining attempts. He stepped back onto the competition floor a few minutes later but this time decided to go for a 325-kilogram (716.5-pound) deadlift. The outcome was identical, with Nabil reaching lockout without any struggle.

Nabil Lahlou approached the final attempt strategically, as he wanted to set a new French record while also aiming to climb up to second place on the overall rankings. So, he decided to load 330.5 kilograms (728.6 pounds), exceeding the record by exactly 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds), and overtaking Panagiotis Tarinidis to take silver at the competition.

From the moment he came out for his final pull, Nabil Lahlou displayed great energy and intention to complete the historic lift. He then executed his plan, using a sumo stance and a hook grip to do so. Once he finished the lift, Nabil started celebrating, showing just how much it meant to him.

“We did it ! Official national record 🇫🇷 330.5 -74 kg biggest deadlift in the nation in front of the biggest crowd 🔥 merci la team. Waiting for the raw footage to start pumping content about this crazy performance. We walked away with a 108 glp PR” wrote Nabil Lahlou on Instagram.
