Brittany Bowles put on a show-stopping display at the 2026 PLU (Powerlifting United) American Pro on August 7-8 at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Richmond, Virginia. She competed in the 60-kilogram weight class and ended up breaking a 7-year-old World Record. Specifically, she achieved a 581-kilogram (1,280.9-pound) Raw Total All-Time World Record.

Brittany Bowles’ Full Performance Overview

Brittany Bowles successfully completed eight out of nine attempts at the 2026 American Pro. She had an early stumble when she missed her final squat, which, as she stated on Instagram, had her questioning the possibility of setting a new Total World Record. However, she made up for it in the remainder of the competition.

“I cut weight from 152.4 down to my official weigh in of 131.34lbs (59.7KG). I wasn’t able to get all my weight back even after consuming nearly 2000 carbs,” wrote Brittany Bowles on Instagram

Squat

Brittany Bowles began her day on the squat platform with a comfortable 205-kilogram (451.9-pound) opener. On her second attempt, she jumped up to 215 kilograms (474 pounds) and completed it with ease, receiving all three white lights from the judges and setting a big 50-pound personal best. She then tried to add an additional 7.5 kilograms (16.5 pounds) to the barbell on her third attempt, but that proved to be a bit too heavy for her on the day.
