Chilean powerlifter Marina Castillo Pardo put on a clinic at the 2026 PLU American Pro on August 8th in Richmond, Virginia. Competing in the 67.5-kilogram weight class, Pardo showcased her elite squatting ability on the big stage. She delivered a stellar overall performance, capped off by an incredible 227.5-kilogram (501.6-pound) Raw Squat All-Time World Record.
Marina Castillo Pardo kicked her squat session off with a smooth 205-kilogram (451.9-pound) opener, which helped build momentum for her. Following a successful opening attempt, she then called for a 15-kilogram (33.1-pound) jump to 220 kilograms (485 pounds) on her second attempt. Pardo executed the lift cleanly, boosting her confidence ahead of the final record-breaking attempt.
For her third and final effort, Marina Castillo Pardo loaded 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds) onto the barbell. She then approached the monolift rack wearing a lifting belt and knee sleeves, clearly determined to set a new record. Pardo displayed immense strength and control as she sank the attempt to depth and locked it out to achieve her goal.
*Naomi Sheppard held the previous U67.5KG Raw Squat All-Time World Record of 227 kilograms (500.4 pounds). She set the record at the 2025 IPA Cincinnati Women’s Pro Am – Pro Day.
