The +84KG weight class has been a staple of the IPF for a while now and one athlete that has displayed remarkable consistency is Brittany Schlater. The Canadian representative has won multiple coveted titles in recent years, which is why she was one of the favorites at the 2026 IPF World Classic Open Powerlifting Championships in Druskininkai, Lithuania. Schlater made her appearance on June 21st and ended up setting a new 756.5-kilogram (1,667.8-pound) Raw Total World Record to win gold.

Brittany Schlater’s Full Performance Overview

Brittany Schlater came into the 2026 IPF World Championships as the defending champion, having won the title in 2025 following an exciting battle against Sonita Muluh. The two women clashed once again this year, with Sonita missing all three of her deadlifts and getting disqualified from the competition, which left many fans and athletes shocked. On the other hand, it allowed Schlater to win the competition convincingly.

Squat

Although Brittany Schlater possesses incredible squatting power, the first event of the competition was somewhat of ‘damage control’ for her since she battled against the greatest women’s squatter in history. Schlater definitely did a great job, as she managed to lift 302.5 kilograms (666.9 pounds) on her final attempt, which marked a new competition PR for her.

Bench Press

With the squat out of the way, Brittany Schlater moved on to the bench press and started cutting down Sonita Muluh’s lead. She started off with a 152.5-kilogram (336.2-pound) press but eventually built up to a massive 165-kilogram (363.8-pound) on her final lift. This tied her competition PR, showing that Brittany was in the best shape of her career so far at the time of the competition.

Deadlift

The battle for the title came down to the deadlift. Sonita Muluh was still in the lead at the start of the event, but Brittany Schlater knew that this was her opportunity to make a late comeback. Schlater opened up with a 270-kilogram (595.2-pound) pull and followed it up with a successful deadlift of 289 kilograms (637.1 pounds) on her second attempt. On the other hand, Sonita missed both of her attempts, which gave Brittany the lead.

To secure the win, Brittany initially selected 291.5 kilograms (642.6 pounds) for her final deadlift. However, after Sonita missed her third and final attempt at 275 kilograms (606.3 pounds), Brittany already had the victory locked up. As a result, she elected to pass on her final attempt.
