The IWF Junior World Weightlifting Championships is underway currently (June 1-8) and CJ Cummings has already secured his fourth win in a row (2016-1019). Cummings dominated the Pan American Championships in April setting 15 World records and has already cemented his name as a top weightlifter.
So, it’s no surprise he absolutely killed it again and he’s been an exciting athlete to watch for Team USA in the 73kg weight division as of recently.
Here are his best lifts at the competition:
Snatch – 145kg (Silver)
Clean & Jerk – 192kg (Gold/Junior World Record)
Total – 337kg (Gold)

CJ Cummings was very happy after the competition as he explained…(via IWF)
“I am extremely happy and excited for this year’s gold medal as never anyone from the USA had four Junior World Champion titles before. My next competition will be the Junior Pan-American Championships, which I also would like to win and build up my ROBI points to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games.”
We hope to see more superb performances from CJ Cummings and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be the ultimate test.
