Also, Pat Vellner got the better of Annie Thorisdottir during the workout

This workout is one of the most unique in the history of the CrossFit Open. The fact that you could do the exercises in any order makes for an interesting addition to an otherwise challenging workout. Therefore, it was interesting to see how Annie Thorisdottir and Pat Vellner decided to split the workout.

Both athletes started out the 20.5 with the ring muscle ups, with Vellner being a bit quicker. Then, at 11 reps, Annie began doing the cal row. On the other hand, Vellner did 12 muscle ups, before going to wall balls. After 15 rows, Thorisdottir went back to muscle ups, hitting 6 reps, before going back to rowing. Then, after doing 40 wall balls, Vellner went back to muscle ups himself, doing 10.

Things began to pick up around 3 minutes in, with both athletes being intense. Pat Vellner was up around 40 reps, as he finally began hitting the rows. On the other hand, Annie Thorisdottir was alternating 5 reps on muscle ups, with 15 rows, not touching wall balls. At around six and a half minutes, Vellner finished his muscle ups.

As the clock ticked away, Thorisdottir finished her cal rows at around 9 minutes, before finishing up her muscle ups. All she had left was her wall balls, but she was down around 70 reps. On the other hand, Vellner was alternating between his rows and his wall balls. In the end, his strategy would be enough to earn him the win.
