Sergio Oliva Jr is set to make his return to bodybuilding at the 2020 Arnold Classic. Ahead of this, he hits the gym with Jay Cutler TV to get in some serious work.
Oliva Jr is the son of bodybuilding legend Sergio Oliva Sr. However, he is looking to break away from the shadow of his father, and move onto a legacy of his own design. So far, he has managed to do just that, racking up some big bodybuilding performances. Most notably, he placed second in both the Tampa Pro and Chicago Pro, in 2018, before earning 16th at the Mr. Olympia.
Oliva Jr looks to get back to action for the first time since those performances, at the 2020 Arnold Classic. He had been dealing with some serious setbacks in his personal life, which kept him out of competition. Therefore he is looking to get back on the right path, next March, in Columbus, Ohio.
Ahead of this competition, Sergio Oliva Jr has been preparing hard. Recently, the guys from Jay Cutler TV caught up with him, in San Diego, to hang out at the gym, and see his workout. In the video, Sergio works his shoulders, while also confirming again that he plans on competing at the Arnold Classic.

Oliva Jr got some good reps in, during the workout. He did some lat raises, flys, and much more throughout the shoulder session. On top of that, he discussed what competing at the Arnold Classic means to him.
“It’s something I’ve wanted to do, obviously, my whole career, but it’s just something I feel different about. I need to be a certain level before I should allow myself to even be gracing that stage. So now that I’m mentally able to do it, I need to make sure I’m physically able to do it.”
As they discuss in the video, Sergio Oliva Jr is a lean 310lb, leading into the prep for this competition. He is finally in a good place in his life, and is now focused on the task ahead of him. Certainly when looking at him, it seems that he is in a great position to return to competition.
