Ahmed Hassanin turned 40 years old earlier this year and waited until the 2025 IPF World Equipped Powerlifting Championships to make his debut in the Masters 1 age class. The competition took place on November 11-16 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and Ahmed competed in the +120KG weight class. He put in a spectacular performance and topped it off with new Equipped Squat and Total IPF Masters World Records.
Ahmed Hassanin’s Full Performance Overview
Ahmed Hassanin weighed in at 181.8 kilograms (400.8 pounds) for the 2025 IPF World Equipped Powerlifting Championships. He successfully completed six out of nine attempts, missing one on each of the three events. That did not hinder him too much, as he still managed to walk away with two new World Records. Ahmed placed sixth in the Open age class but ranked highest out of all Masters powerlifters in his division.
Squat
The squat is Ahmed Hassanin’s greatest event, as seen by his performance at the World Championships. He opened up with a 430-kilogram (948-pound) lift but increased the weight to 452.5 kilograms (997.6 pounds) shortly after. His second attempt was unsuccessful, but Ahmed managed to lock it out on his third try. So, he set a new Masters 1 IPF World Record.

Bench Press
The bench press followed a similar pattern to the squat, as Ahmed Hassanin crushed his first attempt but failed the second one. So, on his third attempt, he decided to go for 337.5 kilograms (744.1 pounds) and successfully completed the lift to continue adding to his total.

Deadlift
The deadlift was the final challenge for Ahmed Hassanin at the 2025 IPF Equipped World Championships. His first pull already secured him a World Record Total, but Ahmed made sure to lock out 310 kilograms (683.4 pounds) on his second attempt to further advance the record. Lastly, he decided to add another 25 kilograms (55.1 pounds) to the bar, but it proved to be too much.

Ahmed Hassanin has appeared in 27 sanctioned powerlifting competitions over the course of his career so far. He has been a very frequent competitor on the international scene and has racked up 10 victories. However, he also made a name for himself by chasing and setting World Record, and is now ready to pursue even more success in the Masters division.
