Among the countries with incredible powerlifting talent is France. So, their representatives at the 2023 IPF World Juniors and Sub-Juniors Classic Championships were expected to perform well. Andorina Bouchoux was one of those who did exceptionally well, perhaps even better than what the expectations were. She took part in the raw 69-kilogram weight class of the competition and set a brand new IPF Junior Squat World Record of 198 kilograms (436.5 pounds).

Andorina Bouchoux started her performance with a 187.5-kilogram (413.4-pound) squat, which was just shy of the junior world record. However, she managed to break the record on her second attempt when she successfully lifted 195 kilograms (429.9 pounds).

There was only one thing left for Andorina Bouchoux to do, improve the world record, which is exactly what she did with a 198-kilogram (436.5-pound) squat. To complete the lift, Andorina just put on a lifting belt and a pair of knee sleeves. She then unracked the bar, braced herself for the lift, and made the lift far easier than anyone thought it would be.

Noemi Fanton from Italy was the previous U69IPF Junior Raw Squat World Record holder, as she scored a lift of 190.5 kilograms (420 pounds) at the 2022 EPF European Classic Powerlifting Championships. Her record has now been broken by Andorina Bouchoux, and is 6.5 kilograms (14.3 pounds) heavier.

Andorina Bouchoux is already confident that she’ll soon achieve a 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) squat, as she recently shared her new goal on Instagram. Moreover, judging by the lack of struggle during her recent 198-kilogram (436.5-pound) squat, Andorina already seems capable of reaching the milestone.

“200’s not far away 🤞
This is just the beginning of the adventure 😌”
