Benefits of Using A Pull-Up Bar
We and anyone who knows anything about having a complete resistance training regime know that pull-ups are king! It’s really that simple. But we’ll elaborate a little more for you.

Build a more muscular and stronger back
Pull-ups are arguably the best exercise for building the latissimus dorsi; the largest muscle of the upper body that spans across the lower and mid-back responsible for the motion of the shoulder joint and spine.
Here are the Top 7 Lats Exercises For Building Bigger and Stronger Lats.
When discussing the back muscles, we like to bring up a study from the American Council on Exercise (ACE) that compared muscle activation between several of the most commonly-used back exercises, including the lat pulldown.
What researchers found was that the pull-up elicited the highest degree of muscle activation in the lat muscles compared to movements such as the lat pulldown, chin-up (a close second), bent over row, cable row, inverted row, TRX row, and I-Y-T raise.
And it doesn’t hurt to be able to pull yourself up if you really needed to. But if you want a jacked, roadmap back, do pull-ups and add weight with the use of a belt, backpack, or dumbbell the more advanced you get.
Better bi’s
The pull-up isn’t only a back exercise but also one of the best biceps muscle builders. But by simply using an underhand grip (chin-up), you’ll benefit even more since it replicates a bicep curl more so.
Either way though, you’re bound to see gains in your biceps and your forearms will follow.
Build up your mental fortitude
Pull-ups are one of those exercises that really challenge your mental fortitude. And you’d know that if you do them regularly. You might feel like you only want to do a few and stop when there’s more left in the tank.
Challenge yourself by having a number in your head that you know is outside of your comfort zone and aim to complete that many reps.
But if you cannot even do one pull-up at the moment, practice several times per week and before you know it, you’ll be a pull-up master!
Bragging Rights
If there’s one thing we’re sure of, it’s that if you have a pull-up at home, your friends and family will be tempted to try it out and see how many they can rep out.
By practicing the pull-up regularly, you can show off your impressive strength and it makes for a fun social activity.
Wrapping Up
We’re rather confident in our best outdoor pull-up bar picks. Not all are created equally but we made sure to choose quality options from reputable brands.
Your needs or wants may be different than that of someone else and so we also made sure to include variety so that people from all levels can benefit.
Pull-ups are one of the best exercises for back and biceps development and if you can do them, then do them!
