Betty Aborah has impressed the powerlifting community on multiple occasions already, but her recent appearance at the 2024 Euro Muscle Show on July 13-14 is definitely a standout. Competing in the iconic city of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Betty participated in the raw 63-kilogram weight class. She had a solid performance overall and ultimately crowned it with a 232-kilogram (511.5-pound) Raw Deadlift IPF Open World Record.

Betty Aborah opened up her deadlift session with a pull of 207.5 kilograms (457.5 pounds), which was significantly below her maximum capabilities. However, it put a score on the board for her and allowed her to progress toward the record. So, on her second attempt, Betty jumped up to 216.5 kilograms (477.3 pounds), which also moved with impressive speed.

With one attempt left, Betty Aborah knew that that was her final chance to achieve her goal. So, she decided to go for 232 kilograms (511.5 pounds), exactly 0.5 kilograms (1.1 pounds) over the previous World Record. Betty then turned to her recognizable style of deadlifting, consisting of a sumo stance and a mixed grip, to perform the lift.

Betty Aborah easily deadlifted 232 kilograms (511.5 pounds) and even held the bar in a locked out position for an impressive amount of time. She then burst into tears even before letting go of the bar, as she could not hold off her emotions and happiness for a new World Record.
