Bodybuilder Igor Porto Brandao has been arrested after the alleged assault of his wife, Marcela Luise, who recently passed away. Luise’s aunt confirmed her tragic death with a local news outlet.
The victim, Marcela Luise, spent 10 days in the Intensive Care Unit before meeting her demise. Although Brandao insists that she took a fall while cleaning, her injuries were inconsistent with such an accident. Luise sustained traumatic brain injuries, multiple broken ribs, a fractured shoulder blade, and prominent facial bruises.
After Brandao drove her to the Santa Monica hospital in Brazil with several injuries, things took a turn for the worse. On Monday, Marcela Luise was declared deceased, and as a result, bodybuilder Brandao was swiftly taken into custody.

Police Respond After Bodybuilder Porto Brandao’s Wife Dies Following 10-Day Stint in ICU From Alleged Assault
According to Luise’s aunt, Brandao ‘controlled’ her and told her she was a bad mother.
“She didn’t work and he controlled her. He often told her she wasn’t a good mother, that she didn’t know how to do anything, insulted her, and humiliated her.”
After being notified by the hospital, police realized her injuries were not consistent with an accidental fall.
“The hospital contacted the police station, informing them that there were multiple injuries, which are not consistent with a fall. She suffered head trauma on both sides of her head and at the base of her skull, fractured her collarbone, eight ribs, and had several bruises on her body.” shared authorities.
Police chief Bruna Coelho mentioned that Brandao bathed his wife before driving her to the hospital. With an official investigation underway, the police intend to get to the bottom of what really happened.
As a prolific bodybuilder, influencer, and trainer, Igor Porto Brandao has been a prominent member of the fitness community. He regularly shared his passion for lifting weights and exercising with the world online.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time that a bodybuilder has been accused of harming their spouse. Previously, Nermin Sulejmanovic committed the unthinkable and brutally killed his wife while live-streaming the entire process. From there, he would take the lives of two more people before finally killing himself after police caught up to him.
Additionally, NPC bodybuilder and former U.S. Marine Ian Baunach was accused of murdering his ex-wife. Following her disappearance, police would get involved and eventually acquire a search warrant for his home. Upon entering his home, it was apparent that a struggle had taken place, evident by the blood found on the floor. Following an investigation, police revealed that Baunach had incinerated her body in the backyard.
