The 2025 Strongest Man On Earth will take place on August 16-17 in Loveland, Colorado. Growing over the years, the competition quickly became one of the biggest points of the season, featuring the greatest Strongmen in the world and one of the highest prize purses in the sport. So, Brian Shaw recently decided to reveal all of the events for the competition months in advance.
Brian Shaw embraced innovation by introducing new concepts of events to the 2025 Strongest Man On Earth, which further spikes interest in the potential results that might transpire. So, the competition will once again consist of eight events separated evenly across two days. Some events will be returning from previous years, but a number of them are brand-new ideas that are still being tested and worked on. So, Brian has not yet settled on the exact weight and minute details.

Max Log Press
The opening event of the 2025 Strongest Man on Earth will be the Max Log Press, where athletes will have an undisclosed number of attempts to establish a one-rep max. This event shows that Brian is adamant about finding who the strongest man on earth really is, as it will show who the strongest overhead presser is.
“With the caliber of pressers that will be coming to this contest, I think that we may see the world record under threat.”
Standing Chest Press
The Standing Chest Press will be a returning event from the 2023 edition of the competition. It features a custom machine that is progressively loaded with each rep that the athlete performs. The principle of the event is very similar to a bench press but is designed to be performed in a standing position.
“This is a chest press event, so a little bit different than the athletes normally see, but I feel like after the reception that it had, a lot of people will be really excited to see that back.”
Side Handle Deadlift
Brian Shaw is known for his innovation when it comes to the events at the Strongest Man On Earth competition, and this year will be no different. He has ordered a unique and custom deadlift bar, which will allow athletes to use a more natural side grip, similar to the one used on a trap bar.
“It’s something that was talked about a lot, especially earlier in my strongman career — what type of weight would be possible to lift if we ended up having some type of side handle deadlift? That really never happened in my career and, you know, it was just a thought that I had.”
Frame Carry & Seated Arm-Over-Arm Pull Medley
The 2025 Strongest Man On Earth will also consist of an interesting medley. The athletes will be tasked with carrying a heavy frame for a set distance, which will take a massive toll on their forearms and grip strength. However, they will then immediately jump into an arm-over-arm rope pull, which will be insanely difficult after the first part of the event.
“A super heavy grip test here. The frame carry will be heavy — I can promise that — and the arm-over-arm again will be heavy. So a really, really good test for these athletes with that event.”
Safe Yoke Carry
The Super Yoke is an event that can be seen in a lot of high-level Strongman competitions and it will be a part of the 2025 Strongest Man On Earth as well. However, Brian has decided to make it look even more insane, since he will load the Yoke with massive safes on each side. This will put into perspective just how strong the athletes are.
“So it’s going to be a super yoke; it’s going to be loaded with massive safes and I think it’s going to look absolutely ridiculous. The athletes will get tested in this up to big weight. We have not 100% confirmed how we’re going to do this — most likely it will be contested in rounds and each round the weight will go up.”
Manhood Stones
The Manhood Stones were the most controversial event seen in the previous editions of the Strongest Man On Earth, since the majority of athletes underperformed the last time. However, Brian believes that everyone will approach the event a bit more carefully this time, which should result in a better outcome.
As for the event, the athletes will have to lift insanely heavy round stones up to a certain height. However, they will have a choice of what weight they want to lift, since multiple stones will be at their disposal. It is important to note that one rep with the heavier stone beats any number of reps with the lighter one.
“So last year was their introduction and they were heavy — up to the last stone being 600 lb. We’re going to bring that event back and test the guys again with that. I think that for some of the athletes, their strategy will probably change. And naturally, this is what you see sometimes in this caliber of competition.”
Keg Toss for Maximum Weight
Keg Toss is another familiar event in the Strongman community, but Brian Shaw is introducing a very unique twist to it. Namely, instead of focusing on time or height, the Strongest Man On Earth will feature a Maximum Weight Keg Toss. This means that the event will be separated into multiple rounds, with the weight of the keg progressing on each level that passes. So, the goal for the athletes is to be the last man standing, and they can do so by tossing a heavier keg than anyone else. The height of the beam will be set at 15 feet.
“I only got to do this event one time in my career, and I absolutely loved it… Last year we did a keg for max height… this will be an exciting change and a really good test of explosive strength and power.”
Tire Flip & Power Stairs Medley
While the order of other events is unclear, Brian Shaw has confirmed that a medley will wrap up the 2025 Strongest Man On Earth. Unlike last year, the athletes will first have to complete a number of massive tire flips. They will then follow it up with a set of massive Power Stairs, carrying heavy implements up a series of steps. This ensures a symbolic ending with the athletes finishing on the top of the platform.
“Tire flip is not something that we have seen in the sport of strongman for quite a while… We’re going to confirm the tire weight, of course, and make sure the grip is perfect… But we’ll do that into heavy power stairs. I think it’s going to be a brutal way to finish off the Strongest Man on Earth. And truly, whoever is standing on top of those power stairs at the end can confidently say that they are the strongest man on Earth. And that’s what this is all about,” said Brian Shaw in his YouTube video.
