Brian Shaw has been widely recognized as one of the strongest humans to ever live. So, many people wondered how he would fare against the ‘king of the jungle’. That is why the popular YouTuber Mr. Beast decided to challenge Brian Shaw to a tug-of-war against a lion.

In order to take part in the challenge, Brian Shaw went to South Africa, where Mr. Beast put up a custom cage that allowed for safe execution of the Tug-of-War. Before stepping in, Brian warmed up and put on the gear that he used during his Strongman days.

Once he entered the cage, Brian Shaw firmly gripped the rope, seemingly experiencing an overflow of energy. He was clearly excited to see how much power the lion holds, which ended up being a tense battle. The lion bit down on a piece of bone that was tied to the other end of the rope. Just like that, the duel started.

Brian Shaw used all of his power, constantly pulling and not giving the lion any slack. The lion also held his own, showing its intelligence and making the job harder for Brian in multiple ways. However, Brian still managed to take the win, moving inch-by-inch to cross the line.

Although Brian Shaw has retired from professional Strongman, his time on the competition floor has not concluded. Instead, he transitioned over to arm wrestling to soothe his competitive spirit. He has fully dedicated himself to the sport, training meticulously every day, going as far as ordering custom pieces of training equipment.

Brian also had one high-profile match, taking on the 2017 World’s Strongest Man, Eddie Hall. He ended up beating his rival, showing that he has a lot of talent and a prosperous future in the sport. He has scheduled his second match for September 15th in Loveland, Colorado, as a part of the 2025 Strongest Arm On Earth. There Brian will face a notable powerlifting and arm wrestling figure, Brandon Allen.

As for his duel against the lion, Brian Shaw proved that he still holds a lot of strength from his Strongman career. During that time, Brian won four World’s Strongest Man competitions, one Strongest Man On Earth, and multiple other elite shows such as the Arnold Strongman Classic.
