The 2023 WRPF American Pro 2 took place on October 27-29, in Manassas, VA, where it gathered dozens of elite powerlifters. So, even before the competition started, it looked very interesting. However, no one could have predicted that the single greatest lift in the history of women’s raw powerlifting would happen. But it did, all thanks to Brianny Terry, who put in a lot of work to achieve it. She ended up deadlifting 291 kilograms (641.5 pounds), which marks a new All-Time Heaviest Raw Deadlift in the History of Women’s Powerlifting.

Brianny Terry crushed 270 kilograms (595.2 pounds) for her first deadlift attempt at the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2. She then instantly moved up to 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds) for her second attempt. When she locked this out, Brianny officially claimed the World Record in her weight class of 75 kilograms. However, that was nowhere near what she had envisioned for the competition.

On her third and final deadlift attempt, Brianny Terry loaded 291 kilograms (641.5 pounds), a weight that no woman had successfully locked out in a sanctioned competition before. However, Brianny put on her lifting belt and was ready to take on the never-before-seen lift. After taking a second to set up her sumo stance and take some deep breaths, Brianny began pulling, and the weight began moving. It took her a bit of time to reach full lockout, but Brianny persevered, and her lift received white lights from the judges.

The previous All-Time Heaviest Female Raw Deadlift was in possession of Sara Schiff, who locked out 290.5 kilograms (640.4 pounds) at the 2023 WRPF FQ Classic 3. However, Brianny Terry now surpassed the record despite being 40 kilograms (88.2 pounds) lighter than Sara.

Brianny Terry has been competing in powerlifting since 2017, but her last appearance prior to the 2023 WRPF American Pro 2 came almost a year ago. So, she does not compete too often, but it is still enough to make history in powerlifting. Her career stats show that she has taken part in 11 sanctioned powerlifting competitions and won seven of them.

Apart from a successful career in powerlifting, Brianny Terry is also quite an accomplished bodybuilder as well. She has been competing since 2022, but her lucky moment came at the 2023 NPC USA Championships a few months ago, where she received her IFBB Pro Card.
