Chris Duffin is known for being an incredibly strong powerlifter. Well, he was back at it again recently, with a massive squat set.

Duffin is one of the strongest pound-for-pound powerlifters in the world. When he was competing at 220lb, he set world records for most weight deadlifted in one minute, at 17,010lb (through 40 reps at 405lb). In addition to that, he garnered attention for being one of the few people able to squat over 900lb at this weight.

In fact, after hitting 900lb, Duffin has not slowed down at all. Moreover, he put this on display again recently, with an impressive Instagram video. The footage shows him hit a wild 970lb squat for two reps. For those bad at math, that is nearly four times his latest competition weight of 261lb! It was truly a top-notch performance from a man who never delivers less.

970×2, 960×2, 938×2, 905×2 today just as I called it out when I was on the @markbellspowerproject yesterday. I’m also sharing a longer video today so you can see the mental state I get in to do these sets that I talked about on the show as well. This normally is edited out to keep videos short of IG. – I plan to squat 1000×3 this coming March at the IHRSA show in San Diego. This will be the conclusion of my Grand Goals campaign when combined with my nearly 3 reps at a 1000lbs deadlift a few years ago. It will be done just a few weeks shy of my 43rd birthday and also be my final “feat of strength”. This is a culmination of over 30 years of training and working with some of the best minds in the world on rehab/prehab, recovery and training modalities. I couldn’t even attempt this without the knowledge and support of the Kabuki Strength Team who are directly responsible for managing my training, recovery, and much more. Wish me luck and I hope you’ll follow along as I train to squat 1000lbs for a triple. And to head off the inevitable questions about the bands on my upper legs… read articles after googling “Duffin Compression”. ➖ FREE AUDIO Download of my life changing book below! www.chrisduff.in ➖ CO-Founder @KabukiStrengthLab VISION: A Better World Through Strength ▪️strength equipment ▪️research-based education ▪️world-class strength coaching ▪️doing good in the world @kabuki_virtualcoaching www.kabuki.company ➖ CO-Founder @BearFootAthletics ▪️ Optimizing the human to ground interface 👣 www.bearfoot.store ➖ CO-Founder @BuildFastFormula ▪️Nutrition and training before supplementation ▪️ Research-backed formulas & effective dosages ▪️ full-disclosure labels & no-BS claims ▪️ manufactured in NSF-certified facilities. www.buildfastformula.com ➖ #kabukistrength #chrisduffin #kabukistrengthlab #powerlifting #strengthandconditioning #strengthcoach #americanmanufacturing #strong #squat #strengthtraining #weightroom #barbell #bearfoot #barefoot #buildfastformula #vasoblitz #supplements #supplementsthatwork #pump #gymlife #gymmotivation #strongman #bodybuilding #bodybuilder #crossfit #powerlifting #strength #fitness

As he explains in the lengthy post, this training is en route for Duffin to hit a 1000lb triple. He is aiming for this goal, and this seems to be right on track. Furthermore, he reveals that this will be the last feat of strength that he tries to accomplish.

If Chris Duffin truly stops attempting big lifts after the 1,00lb triple, he will have had an amazing run. Either way, it will be exciting to see it happen.
