The final workout of the 2021 CrossFit Open season was revealed today, with the announcement of the 21.3. This is a recap of the announcement, and a breakdown of the workout.

Things were quite different between the 2021 CrossFit Open and the Open from previous years. The most notable difference comes from the fact that this season is much shorter than years past.

Consisting of just three workouts, the Open has been fast paced and full of exciting action. The 21.1 was billed Engine vs. Skill, while the 21.2 pitted Youth vs Experience, with each of these workouts being an exciting but tough test of physical skill.

The Open season concludes with the 21.3, which was revealed today through an announcement on the CrossFit Games YouTube channel. This final workout was dubbed “Sibling Rivalry,” as brothers Scott, Saxon, and Spencer Panchik faced off following the announcement of the workout.

When it came to the 21.3, Scott started off strong, and did not slow down, finishing the workout before his brothers. Spencer beat Saxon, but the difference in their time was just two seconds.

  • Scott Panchik: 7:57
  • Spencer Panchik: 8:26
  • Saxon Panchik: 8:28

All three brothers were quite close when it came to their 21.4 weights. By the end of the seven minute time period, Scott won yet again, with a solid 311lb complex.

  • Scott Panchik: 311lb
  • Saxon Panchik: 286lb
  • Spencer Panchik: 275lb

Following the Panchik brothers, fan favorite Sam Brings went head-to-head with Elijah “EZ” Muhammad completing the 21.3 and 21.4 workouts.. This was to raise awareness and compete for the charity foundation Project Onyx, which is dedicated to fighting racial disparities in the health and fitness industries.

When it came to the 21.3, Briggs blew through the workout to beat Muhammad. For the 21.4, Muhammad understandably scored higher weight, but Briggs looked solid too.

  • Samantha Briggs: 8:33/185lb
  • Eliah Muhammad: 12:10/275lb

Athletes will have until the end of next week to complete the CrossFit Open 21.3 and 21.4 workouts, and submit their results. From here, we will officially know which athletes qualified for the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games.
