Dave Richardson is easily one of the greatest and most likable powerlifters currently, as seen by his recent appearance at the 2024 ABS Clash of Titans 2. The competition took place on April 20th, in Ireland. Despite the stacked lineup, Dave managed to win the competition overall following a humongous 432.5-kilogram (953.5-pound) raw deadlift.
Dave Richardson’s Full Performance
Dave Richardson weighed in at 123.6 kilograms (272.5 pounds) for the 2024 ABS Clash of Titans. However, the competition didn’t feature any weight classes, but instead simply ranked all athletes based on the weight of their Total. So, Dave managed to get the heaviest Total of the competition, despite battling against the likes of Dan Bell and Nicolaas du Preez.
Squat (Wraps)
Dave Richardson stated prior to the competition that he was feeling better than ever, and it proved to be true on the very first event of the competition. He successfully completed all three of his attempts and even set a new Competition PR on the final one.
365 kilograms (804.7 pounds)
390 kilograms (859.8 pounds)
405 kilograms (892.8 pounds) — Competition PR
Bench Press (Raw)
Riding the momentum, Dave Richardson also successfully completed all three of his bench attempts as well. He came just short of his competition PR, but it was still enough to set him on track for a huge Total.
235 kilograms (518.1 pounds)
242.5 kilograms (534.6 pounds)
247.5 kilograms (545.6 pounds)
Deadlift (Raw)
Dave Richardson then moved on to the deadlift, where he managed to lock out one of the heaviest conventional pulls ever performed in a sanctioned powerlifting competition. That happened on his final attempt, which came out to a mind-blowing 432.5 kilograms (953.5 pounds). Moreover, this incredible deadlift was the one that secured him the overall victory, adding another factor to its significance.
