Eddie Hall vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski

Eddie Hall and Mariusz Pudzianowski’s MMA match is dubbed the ‘World’s Strongest Fight’, which originated from both of their Strongman histories. Eddie Hall made a name for himself by winning the 2017 World’s Strongest Man and becoming the first person ever to deadlift half a ton. On the other hand, Mariusz is known for holding the record for most wins at the World’s Strongest Man competition, as he has five titles next to his name.

When it comes to MMA, Mariusz Pudzianowski is significantly more experienced, winning 17 out of 27 matches in which he took part. Eddie Hall, however, lost one boxing match to Hafthor Bjornsson but also won an interesting 2vs1 MMA match last year.

Match Overview

Mariusz Pudzianowski weighed in at 121 kilograms (266.8 pounds) for the fight, while Eddie Hall’s bodyweight came out to 151.3 kilograms (333.6 pounds). Their fight consisted of two rounds, with each one lasting four minutes.

Round One

Eddie Hall and Mariusz Pudzianowski started the fight by touching gloves but needed just seconds to get the action going. Eddie threw a powerful right hand early, catching Mariusz off-guard and throwing him off balance. Hall saw his opportunity and started chasing down his opponent while also continuing to throw devastating punches.

Mariusz Pudzianowski seemingly tried to go for a takedown in hopes of transitioning the MMA match into a grappling position. However, Hall easily brushed it off, throwing Mariusz across the octagon and jumping on top of him within seconds.

Mariusz was stuck on his back, receiving an array of powerful punches to the head. So, he tried to turn over onto his stomach, protecting his head in any way he could. That served him nothing good, as Eddie’s punches continued to break through his guard, prompting the judge to end the fight just 30 seconds in.

Result: Eddie Hall wins via TKO

Eddie Hall has shown that he is definitely a force to be reckoned with in MMA, as the possibility of going to the floor and continuing the fight seemingly suits him better than boxing. He has now defeated one of the most respectable super heavyweight fighters in Europe, which will hopefully prompt him to continue his career in the sport.

As for the remainder of his season, Eddie Hall is set to take on Robert Oberst in the sport of arm wrestling. The two former Strongmen will face off at the ‘Strongest Arm on Earth’ event, which will be organized by Brian Shaw.
