Eddie Hall visited the 2025 Slap Fighting Championships in Dubai on July 26th, where he had a busy day with a number of interactions. However, the most interesting encounter of the day came when a YouTuber, Dean Alex, approached Hall, wanting to experience getting slapped by the former World’s Strongest Man. Well, it did not end well for Alex, as he walked away with a burst eardrum.

Dean Alex is known for performing challenges that most people wouldn’t dare to even think about. So, one of the items on his checklist was to get slapped by the World’s Strongest Man. He got the perfect opportunity in Dubai, having met face-to-face with none other than Eddie Hall. After hearing of the idea, Eddie felt reluctant at first. However, Alex persisted and got Eddie to change his mind.

To start off, Eddie Hall used only 50% of his power on the first slap. However, even that was enough to knock down Dean Alex. Surprisingly, he got back up and requested another, even more powerful slap for the second round. Eddie was once again against the idea, but Dean Alex was determined to go again. So, Hall picked up the intensity, utilizing 70% of his strength the second time around.

This proved to be a costly mistake for Dean Alex, who fell to the floor once again, but suffered a severe injury this time. Namely, Dean did not use earplugs, meaning that the power of Hall’s slap ended up bursting his eardrum. As a result, Dean got completely disoriented, realizing his mistake straight away.

“My ear is gone. The eardrum has burst.

It is like a grenade has gone off… I can’t hear anything; I can’t feel my face. He has popped my eardrum. I feel dead disoriented and dizzy. All I can hear is ringing in my ears.

That is definitely one of the worst videos that I’ve ever done, one of the worst challenges I’ve ever done… I’m in a bad, bad place… I took two slaps off him like a champ, but I shouldn’t have taken the second one,” said Dean Alex in his YouTube video.

There is no doubt that taking a slap from Eddie Hall is one of the worst experiences that a person can have. Not only was he the World’s Strongest Man, but Eddie also has a lot of combat sport training behind him, meaning that he knows how to utilize his power to the fullest. This was also seen when he beat the record set by Alex Pereira on a punching machine.

Eddie Hall’s visit to Dubai happened on the exact day when Hafthor Bjornsson was attempting to set a new Deadlift World Record. So, a lot of eyes were on Eddie at the time, considering the years-long beef that Hall and Bjornsson had because of the record. However, Eddie wished Hafthor the best before the attempt and congratulated him once he successfully broke it.

Hall also recently beat the 5x World’s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski in an MMA match, knocking out his opponent in the opening round. While he has not revealed other plans regarding his combat sport journey, Hall is now preparing to take on Robert Oberst in an arm wrestling match. The duel will take place at the 2025 Strongest Arm On Earth event, along with other supermatches like Brian Shaw vs. Brandon Allen and Martins Licis vs. Laurence ‘Big Loz’ Shahlaei.

Even though nearly a decade has passed since Eddie Hall was crowned the World’s Strongest Man, it’s clear he remains one of the most powerful men on Earth. So, Dean Alex’s experience of being slapped by Hall, not once but twice, was undoubtedly painful. In fact, he was lucky to walk away with “only” a burst eardrum, as the consequences could have been far more severe.
