Evie Corrigan came into the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships as the defending champion from last year. So, she definitely carried a lot of pressure into the competition. Evie once again proved to be one of the most notable competitors, setting new U52KG IPF World Records in the Raw Deadlift and Raw Total events.

Evie Corrigan set a great base for herself with incredible performances in the squat and bench press events. So, she was on track to set a Total World Record, but it all depended on her deadlift abilities. So, Evie’s first deadlift attempt came out to 197.5 kilograms (435.4 pounds). Furthermore, this helped push her Total over the World Record mark already.

Having some more ambitions, Evie Corrigan chose 208.5 kilograms (459.6 pounds) for her second deadlift attempt, which exceeded the record in this event by 0.5 kilograms (1,1 pounds). So, in order to perform it, Evie used a sumo stance, along with a mixed grip. She completed with relatively easily, but did not manage to lock out her third attempt of 216 kilograms (476.2 pounds)

Farhanna Farid was the previous U52KG IPF Deadlift World Record holder, having locked out 208 kilograms (458.6 pounds) at the 2023 APF Asian Classic Powerlifting Championships.
