Flex Wheeler has been going through some tough times lately, but is not letting them keep him down. He recently made his return to the gym for the first time since losing his leg.

Wheeler was in and out of the hospital dealing with various health issues. Subsequently, these issues would result in him needing a partial amputation on his right leg. The procedure was a success, and Flex is now on the road to recovery.

Wheeler has been in mixed spirits following this situation, which is certainly understandable. Although he knew that losing his leg was likely, it did not take from the pain. Nevertheless he has been trying his best to stay positive.

Something that will likely help with the mental state of Flex Wheeler, is getting back in the gym. In a recent post to Instagram, it seems he did just that. In the video, he explains that he is taking to the Dragons Gym for the first time, in order to prepare for his prosthetic leg.

Check it out:

The person filming the video, Tony Galeano, is also a trainer, who it appears will be helping Wheeler. As Flex says, he is just looking to help his leg heal up a bit before the prosthetic is put on. Therefore he is not looking for any sort of hard work, but just to get back to some sort of training.

Hitting the gym again is going to be great for Flex Wheeler. Not only is there the normal benefits exercise offers, in terms of aiding against depression, but for someone like Flex, who has been in the gym for years, getting back to a routine is helpful too. While he has mostly maintained a positive attitude, there is no doubt that this has to be incredibly hard on him. So it is good to see Wheeler doing things to help himself out.
