Gennady Golovkin (39-1-1, 35 KOs) met Steve Rolls (19-1, 10 KOs) in the main event of a boxing card at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. There were no surprises this time because “GGG” stopped his rival in the fourth round via KO. Massive left hook ended their 160-pound showdown!
Steve Rolls has never faced someone with Kazakhstani’s skills, but he started getting into a rhythm as soon as the bout kicked off. The Toronto fighter delivered a few very serious hooks in the first three frames.
But Golovkin suddenly woke up in the fourth frame, and clipped his rival with a dangerous left hook that sent him to the canvas. The referee Steve Willis counted until ten. Interestingly, Steve Rolls got up, but then fell back into the ropes, and the contest was waved off.
Final Result: Gennady Golovkin defeats Steve Rolls via KO (round 4, 2:09)
Of course, after the match, Gennady Golovkin called out his angry rival, Canelo Alvarez, for the third match.
