Hafthor Bjornsson’s years of experience in Strongman and powerlifting have gifted him some extraordinary abilities when it comes to the deadlift. So, even though he is coming out of retirement, Hafthor is still the greatest deadlifter in the world. He showed this once again by deadlifting 456 kilograms (1,005.3 pounds) during his recent training session.

Hafthor Bjornsson is currently preparing for the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth competition, which will take place on August 17-18 in Loveland, CO. One of the events at the competition will be the Max Deadlift, and Hafthor is optimistic about taking the win.

Namely, the athletes will only be allowed to use a lifting belt and a pair of lifting straps. So, Hafthor Bjornsson is training with the exact same setup. This makes his 456-kilogram (1,005.3-pound) deadlift even more impressive since not a lot of athletes have lifted as much weight without a deadlift suit.

However, the 456-kilogram (1,005.3-pound) deadlift was not much of a struggle for Hafthor Bjornsson, who easily locked out the lift. He will not be lifting anything heavier until the competition, though, as this was his biggest session of the preparation cycle.

Deadlift isn’t the only event that suits Hafthor Bjornsson extremely well at the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth competition, as some other ones do as well. Most notably, Hafthor is looking forward to the Keg Toss for max height. He has been practicing in training and recently even managed to Unofficially break the World Record with a toss of 8 meters (26-ft 3-in). Moreover, Hafthor used a heavier keg than that which will be used at the competition.

Another aspect that Hafthor Bjornsson pays a lot of attention to in his preparation for the 2024 Strongest Man On Earth is his diet. He has been very open about the details of his meals, and recently shared a mind-blowing 11,000+ calorie full day of eating.

Overall, it really does look like we are getting the prime Hafthor Bjornsson back, since he has regained bodyweight and performed impressive feats of strength. So, he is expected to add more accolades to his already impressive resume.
