Australian actor Hugh Jackman rose to prominence for his incredibly jacked build while portraying the superhero ‘Wolverine.’ Recently, Jackman shared two intense leg workouts he used to get back in superhero shape for the upcoming Deadpool 3 release

Hugh Jackman got tapped to play the role of the burly comic book character in the X-Men (2000) film franchise. The role helped elevate his star power, especially in North America. Playing a mutant with superhuman abilities was no easy task and required Jackman to train and diet consistently. 

Jackman continued to play the part of ‘Wolverine’ in the next installments of the series and secured spinoff projects in the process as well. In 2009, Jackman transformed his physique for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He acquired muscle tissue and exhibited a more athletic build compared to his earlier movie appearances. Despite being a foot taller than the character, Jackman received major praise for his lifelike portrayal of ‘Wolverine.’ 

Looking ahead, Jackman continued his acting journey and even dabbled in theatric work. He racked up several blockbusters, such as The Prestige (2006), Les Misérables (2012), and Prisoners (2013).

When he returned for 2013’s stand-alone film, The Wolverine, Jackman’s physique looked better than ever. He made significant improvements to his build and left the fans in awe of his ripped midsection. His last performance came in the 2017 film Logan. Later, fellow Marvel sensation Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, convinced Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine for the upcoming trilogy of his franchise, Deadpool 3.

Last month, Jackman claimed he did not use steroids at any point to play Wolverine. Instead, he chose to build muscle the old-school way and said he ate a lot of chicken.

In a recent video posted on Twitter, Hugh Jackman shared a heavy squat workout session that he used in preparations for Deadpool 3.

“Paying for the baguette(s) and butter, tarte tatin and and and,” he wrote.

He followed that up with another leg-day training session in a similar fashion on Instagram.

“Middle school French class really kicking in now!!! Bonne journee. #legday”

Hugh Jackman showed off his biceps in a training update for the upcoming film last week. He shared a workout photo that gained the attention of bodybuilding legend Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold chimed in with his admiration for Jackman’s dedication.

Per IMDb, Deadpool 3 is currently in pre-production with an expected release date of November 8, 2024. Shawn Levy will serve as the director and will star Ryan Reynolds, Emma Corrin, and Jackman.
