This week, the American Powerlifting Federation (APF) held the 2021 Cincinnati Women’s Pro/Am on April 11th. Powerlifter Jaclyn Cornwell came out the winner with a new all-time world record (ATWR) squat of 258.5kg/570lbs raw in wraps.

Jaclyn Cornwell’s Squat

For this powerlifting event, Jaclyn Cornwell wore Converse sneakers with knee wraps and a lifting belt for the squat, and won the 67.5k weight class with these numbers:

  • Squat: 258.5kg/570lb, ATWR
  • Bench Press: 113.4kg/250lb
  • Deadlift: 213.2kg/470lb
  • Total: 585.1kg/1,290lb

She posted the squat to Instagram with her stats and thanked her coach, husband, family, and supporters. She also sent shout outs to fellow powerlifting competitors, saying,

“I’m truly blessed with amazing friends and family! Rivercity members thank you all for all your support for Danielle and I. You all helped us more than you all know! Congratulations @_danielleblair for hitting her 1200lb total such a big day for us both! Thanks to my coach Zac @rivercity_barbell for molding me into the powerlifters that I am! @veteran_physio Thank you keeping my body in check and keeping me healthy! My husband for dealing with me on a daily basis and pushing me to the best of my ability! @powerpack_ali for always being my mama duck and being there for me! @queenbeepower thank you for always throwing a badass meet! All the sponsors for the gifts, spotters you were truly amazing! Judges thank you for your fair judgements! I’m still in amazement over today! Thank you everyone involved today you all are the best!”

The new record for Cornwell is 3.8 times her body weight. This squat beat the previous record by just over five pounds, with Cornwell beating Stacy Burr, who squat 256.2kg/564.8lb in 2019 at the 2019 Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition (XPC) Pro Finals. Burr still holds the ATWR total in the same weight class with a total of 650.9kg/1,435lb.
