Jesus Olivares is ready to conquer the World in 2024, as he recently crushed a 400-kilogram (881,8-pound) raw squat for five repetitions, marking a new personal record. He shared the lift from training on his official Instagram and once again blew the minds of thousands of fans.
Since he both trains and competes as a raw athlete, Jesus Olivares only used a lifting belt, knee sleeves, and wrist wraps to complete the humongous squat set. In addition, Jesus did not have any spotters around him, proving how confident he was in successfully performing a new PR.
Jesus Olivares made sure to brace before every repetition and took the entire 5-rep set slow and steady. That being said, all five of his reps looked incredibly smooth, since he did not struggle during any of them. It seemed like he had more energy in the tank, so it’s evident that his training is going well, and he’s prepared to break records at the 2024 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships, which is set to take place on February 10th in the UK. It is undoubtedly one of the biggest powerlifting competitions of the year, especially since it features the biggest prize purse in the history of the sport. It will come out to £445,000, equating to roughly $566,000.
