The California State Championships saw one incredible set of performances over the weekend as 93kg/205lb athlete Jonathan Cayco set an American record as well as an unofficial World record.
And he shattered the previous record by 28 pounds (1874) set by Jesse Norris back in 2015. Cayco achieved a 1902lb/863kg total with the following lifts…
- Squat -300kg/661 lbs
- Bench press -230.5kg/508 lbs
- Deadlift -332.5kg/733 lbs

In another Instagram post, Cayco discussed his game plan going into the California State Championships and the Raw Nationals. “I want to make a statement“. “I want to go into this RAW Nationals extremely confident, with like a total that everyone is like ‘oh, everyone is going to have to step their game up’.”
With an impressive performance behind him, Jonathan Cayco will be looking to dominate the Raw Nationals and we can’t wait to see how he does!
