At 30-years-old, Lasha Talakhadze continues to add to his impressive resume. He has been a staple of the community for a number of years now and has never disappointed when it comes to big competitions. So, during his recent appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Lasha managed to cement his legacy, winning the third consecutive Olympic Gold Medal.

Lasha Talakhadze has been the biggest name in weightlifting for nearly a decade, and in that time he managed to win three Olympic gold medals. His first one came in 2016, where he broke the World Record to beat his closest rival by over 20 kilograms (44 pounds).

Lasha Talakhadze then won his second Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Another few years later, Lasha also managed to win the 2024 Paris Olympics and continue his domination in the sport.

Lasha Talakhadze’s Full Performance

Lasha Talakhadze’s performance at the 2024 Olympics was far from his best, but he is so far ahead of everyone else that it did not even matter. He had four successful lifts overall, deciding to scratch his final Clean & Jerk attempt once he realized that he already had enough for a Gold Medal.

Snatch

Lasha Talakhadze first performed a 210-kilogram (463-pound) Snatch, which was equal to a couple other athletes. However, he then advanced to 215 kilograms (474 pounds) for his second attempt.

Lasha Talakhadze then loaded 220 kilograms (502.7 pounds) on the bar and everyone expected him to lift it. However, he was not successful. This marked his first unsuccessful attempt across all Olympic appearances. Moreover, Gor Minasyan achieved a 216-kilogram (476.2-pound) Snatch and took the lead.

With this, Lasha Talakhadze was comfortably in the lead. So, he decided to wait and see if anyone beats his lift. Since no one did, Lasha decided not to go for his final attempt, since it would be unnecessary to waste more energy on a competition that he already won.
