Brian Johnson, well known as Liver King, is eying the future after a recent injury that could have cost him his life. In a recent Instagram reel published on November 10, 2023, Liver King revealed permanent damage to one of his eyes following a retina detachment and subconjunctival hemorrhage from an unknown injury.
“You can see the official diagnosis right here… the eye is fuc**d! I know there’s been a lot of questions online about the legitimacy of the eye, I get it. I completely fuc**ng deserve it,” said Liver King.
Having set his sights on the ancestral lifestyle, Liver King amassed popularity within the fitness and bodybuilding community thanks to his shredded physique and obscure raw organ meat diet. Boasting over 2.2 million followers on Instagram, fans from around the world keep tabs on Johnson, who has devoted every fiber of his being to the nine ancestral tenets, all of which focus on community, family, and healthy living.
Liver King was exposed as a ‘fake natty’ last December when Derek of the More Plates More Dates YouTube channel leaked his steroid cycle. Although Johnson came clean and claimed he quit using PEDs, fans, and consumers of his supplement products were offended by his dishonesty.
In 2023, Brian Johnson announced he was jumping back on PEDs. Weeks ago, he warned he could lose his eyesight. With influencers questioning his honesty, Liver King decided to show proof of his recent injury.
Liver King Reveals Truth About Eye Injury, Says His Life Was At Risk Due to a Brain Bleed
Liver King showed medical documents and an x-ray of his eye, pointing to his destroyed retina.
“The truth is I was never even going to share any of this about the eye partially just because I thought how fucking embarrassing how I hurt the eye to begin with. Now I’ve just kind of realized that how important it is to share.”
“Apparently, this is the retina here, the black part that’s all destroyed. This is the healthy eye as you can see it’s imploding of the retina which is what the ophthalmologist said.
This is the administration of when I went to the emergency room. I was concerned there might be a brain bleed and that this guy might not make it to the next day. I’m not going to allow that to happen with my boys.”
Despite the setback and damaged pupil, Liver King plans to use this obstacle as a life lesson.
“Liver King has lied in the past, so why not now? I get it… I understand the speculation. It’s why I’m here, supplying all the documentation you need… as proof that, yes, Liver King has suffered from severe retinal detachment.
Yes, it did lead to a subconjunctival hemorrhage… and yes, this could have progressed into a brain hemorrhage (even, the demise of Liver King) without immediate and massive action.

After Liver King was caught red-handed for using PEDs and claiming to be natural, fans and influencers alike have struggled to trust his word. To prove his naysayers wrong, Johnson sought out Dr. Barrett to verify that he didn’t have ab implants. The doctor examined Liver King’s torso and determined if he did have implants, his tissue would have been harder.
Perhaps in due time, Johnson will explain to his audience exactly how he injured his eye. Nevertheless, it’s fortunate that he’s on the mend after the painful incident.
