The 2026 Arnold Strongwoman Classic is taking place on March 5-6 in Columbus, Ohio, presenting one of the biggest shows of the season and featuring a total of ten incredible women. One of them is Lucy Underdown, also known as the ‘Queen of the Deadlift’. Well, Lucy put up another impressive performance in her favorite event, having set a new 701-pound (318-kilogram) Elephant Bar Deadlift World Record.

The Elephant Bar Deadlift was the first event of the 2026 Arnold Strongwoman Classic. It was a unique variation of the exercise, presenting a significantly longer barbell and altering the mechanics of the movement. It has been a staple of the Arnold Strongwoman Classic in previous years and did not disappoint once again.

Going into the event, Lucy Underdown was the clear favorite to take the max points. However, Jennifer Lyle showcased some incredible improvements and entered an intense battle against Lucy. Furthermore, Lyle managed to break the World Record with a 681-pound (308.9-kilogram) deadlift. Lucy quickly responded, lifting 686 pounds (311.2 kilograms) to reclaim her record.

With one attempt left, Jennifer Lyle loaded 701 pounds (318 kilograms) to the barbell. Lyle was unsuccessful in completing the lift, which made Lucy the official winner of the event. Despite that, Lucy still decided to go for 701 pounds (318 kilograms) on her final attempt as well. Underdown managed to lock out the lift, officially setting a new World Record and leaving everyone in awe.

“That felt amazing. I felt like I probably had another 10 – 15 kilograms (22 – 33 pounds) in me. So it would be good to come back next year… The deadlift is my event, and I want to keep it that way for a long, long time… I’ve got to put my mark down while I am still here,” said Lucy Underdown after setting a new World Record.

*Lucy Underdown held the previous Elephant Bar Deadlift World Record of 676 pounds (306.6 kilograms), which she set at the 2025 Arnold Strongwoman Classic.
