2019 was undoubtedly Martins Licis’ best year yet as a Strongman competitor. He placed second at the Arnold Strongman Classic 2019 and won the most prestigious title (World’s Strongest Man) in Strength sports. Last year Licis came in 4th and many were surprised he was able to jump up three spots to stand at the very top of the podium where Hafthor Bjornsson stood last year.

And it was well deserved, as Martins Licis has worked his butt off to get there but he has to work even harder now to stay on top of the mountain because there is a lot of hungry athletes gunning for that number one spot.

Here’s a recent video of him performing the barbell bent-over row with 405 pounds for 12 repetitions…

Back from China, and getting my gears rollin’ šŸ˜Ž 405lb (184kg) bentover raw rows, (no hookgrip) for 12 reps. BY THE WAY, this is after 50 pull-ups.

Not too bad.

Explosive top set with a hover above the floor, and a hard pull to the bottom of my sternum. I do these to reinforce my erectors and lats for deadlifts and explosive stone, keg and sandbag picks.
