Robby Robinson‘s love for fitness not only produced success on stage but also contributed to his remarkable longevity. In a recent YouTube video, Robby Robinson opened up on his anti-aging supplement stack at 77 years old.
If not in pursuit of constant physical improvements, most of us would like to live longer, making the supplement industry a booming market in 2024. In addition to their muscle-building properties and effects on performance, many use supplements to enhance their productivity and even their sleep schedules.
For bodybuilding star Robby Robinson, who competed at the highest level in the IFBB Pro League during the 1970s and 80s, supplements are vital to his day-to-day operations. He recently detailed his supplement stack used today for enhancing his workout performances while simultaneously assisting his anti-aging efforts.

- Glutamine
- L-citrulline
- Vitamin C
- B Vitamins
- Amino Acids
- Creatine
- Glutathione
According to Robby Robinson, his entire supplement routine hinges on glutamine. In his first drink of the day, Robinson takes five scoops of glutamine, a scoop of creatine, and one scoop of L-citrulline.
“My whole supplement regime consists of glutamine. The first thing in the morning I have I put it in my first drink, five scoops of glutamine.
Then, I go for one scoop of creatine, one scoop of L-citrulline, because you’re talking testosterone-building, the creatine you’re talking muscle-building, strength. The glutamine helps your body recover from the workouts,” said Robby Robinson.
In addition, the bodybuilding icon takes Vitamin C, B, and amino acids.
“Vitamin C, I put a scoop of Vitamin C in there, I put B vitamins in there,” adds Robinson. “What I do occasionally I say I’ll go to the Dr. Rand and I’ll get the same supplements intravenously. All those same, glutamine, creatine, amino acids, I get all of that in a solution.”
Perhaps the most important supplement to his regimen is glutathione, which helps with sleep quality and anti-aging goals.
“Oh yeah, it goes right into the bloodstream. You automatically, it fills the body back out because the body is low because you’re working out and it helps the body recover. One of the main ingredients he puts in there takes about 30 minutes and that it glutathione. The glutathione helps regenerate the body. It’s almost like anti-aging, you don’t age as fast. If you take it at night, you sleep like a baby.”
Even though it’s not a technical supplement, Robinson swore by using portable oxygen to maintain adequate levels of oxygen in the blood.
“I’ve been using this [portable oxygen tank] for years,” said Robby Robinson. “I’ve been using this back in the 70s but I didn’t take it to the gym. So what it does is help keep the oxygen level up in the bloodstream so again, talking building muscle and burning fat.”
Aside from Robby Robinson, Andrew Huberman, an esteemed expert in health and neuroscience, has revealed some of his most effective supplements for enhancing your fitness level. Similar to Robinson’s protocol, Huberman also advocated for amino acids and creatine, suggesting an ideal dosage.
“You don’t have to get really specific about this but if you weigh say 185-250 pounds, you can get away with and probably should be taking 10 grams or so of creatine per day which is what I do,” says Dr. Huberman.
Fellow health expert Dr. Peter Attia has also been vocal about his supplement routine designed for longevity and improved sleep quality.
“There’s certain supplements I use to sleep as well. I’m a fan of Glycine, Ashwagandha, Magnesium L-Threonate, and just straight Mag Oxide as well. I don’t use melatonin unless I’m jetlagging,” explains Dr. Peter Attia.
Supplement intake and choices remain one of the most talked about topics in fitness given its overarching benefits on performance, cognition, sleep, and executing daily activities. Having competed on some of the most prestigious stages in bodybuilding, hearing which supplements Robby Robinson still uses today provides valuable insight into longevity and anti-aging possibilities.
“There’s no secrets,” adds Robinson. “I do this every single day.”

“There’s no secrets,” adds Robinson. “I do this every single day.” Big fan of Robby, but to not talk about his TRT and HGH “supplementation” leaves me skeptical. These anti aging clinics have everyone on that protocol at minimum. At age 77, I’d like to see him do a mens physique competition. Saw him compete in Pittsburgh in spring 1979, Mentzer had just beat him the week before in Miami (with a perfect score), but Robby was other worldly and won in Pittsburgh. Never saw him in that kind of shape for an Olympia, must have been stress of that big title.
