Dwayne Johnson is in need of some serious thoughts and prayers at this current moment. It seems that yesterday, his father and fellow professional wrestler, Rocky Johnson has passed away.

The man they call “The Rock” is one of the most popular professional wrestlers of all time. However, what some may not know is that Johnson actually learned his skills from his father, Rocky. In fact, his father was a true pioneer in the pro wrestling world.

Tragically, news broke on Wednesday, that Rocky Johnson passed away. Details of the circumstances have yet to be revealed. However, the news was confirmed by WWE. He was 75 years old at the time of his passing.

Rocky “Soulman” Johnson was truly a legend in the WWE, ending up in its Hall of Fame. This was due to his contributions in the 70’s and 80’s, as well as being half of the first African American tag team. Ultimately, he would retire from competition in 1991, after several decades of entertaining fans.

Dwayne Johnson clearly followed in his father’s footsteps, even adopting “The Rock” moniker in honor of him. This will clearly be a tough loss for him, as it would be for anybody in his place. He obviously cared very deeply for his father, so this will be a tough time, for sure.

Johnson has yet to make a public statement about the passing of his father. However, WWE superstar Ric Flair did offer some words of kindness.

This is what he said:

I'm Saddened To Hear About The Passing Of The GREAT ROCKY JOHNSON! I Wrestled Him Many Times Throughout His Illustrious Career. His Physique And Conditioning Were Unparalleled! He Was So Proud Of His Son Dwayne! He Raised Him To Be The Rock!! RIP Rocky Johnson! pic.twitter.com/GiXXFQhGlE

In addition to that, Hulk Hogan offered words of condolence.

So sorry for the loss of Rocky Johnson. A great man, a great friend and I will always remember he was one of only a few that was kind and helpful when I first broke in. RIP Rocky. I love you my brother HH
