Samson Dauda has been on a roll since hitting the Mr. Olympia stage as he wrapped up his year with two more contest wins. While competing at the EVLS Prague Pro, up-and-coming bodybuilder Rubiel Mosquera, better known as Neckzilla, caught his and the rest of the sport’s attention with his insane freak factor. Recently during Fouad Abiad’s Bro Chat Podcast on YouTube, Samson Dauda shares his thoughts on the new mass monster and whether he stacks up with the rest of the Men’s Open.
Samson Dauda continues to improve as a bodybuilder after his performance at the 2023 Mr. Olympia in early November. Dauda proceeded to compete just one week later at the Romania Muscle Fest Pro where he snatched a first-place win. Still, that wasn’t enough for ‘The Nigerian Lion,’ who finished his busy year off strong taking gold at the EVLS Prague Pro.
During his time at the Prague Pro, Dauda couldn’t help but notice the new and incredibly freaky bodybuilder who posed on stage with him. Rubiel Mosquera is no doubt a neck-turner considering the size of his own! He is known for his insanely large nape that measures 20 inches, which is five inches larger than the average male neck, hence the nickname Neckzilla.
Neckzilla made his Pro debut among seasoned professionals at the 2023 EVLS Prague Pro just a day after earning his Pro card at the EVLS Prague Pro Amateur. With no time to waste, Mosquera battled it out with some of bodybuilding’s biggest names and earned himself a place in third behind Michal Krizanek and champion Dauda.

Samson Dauda Gives His Thoughts On The New Up And Coming Bodybuilder Rubiel ‘Neckzilla’ Mosquera
Samson Dauda gives his thoughts on Neckzilla on the recent Fouad Abiad’s Bro Chat Podcast on YouTube. Dauda, having shared the stage with him, can attest to Rubiel Mosquera’s abilities.
“Every generation has to have their freak right? You have the Ramy, you have the Markus Ruhl. Every generation has to have that one freak.
I think we just found ours in our generation because he’s extremely freaky and it’s that freakiness that draws your eyes to it. Just like wow” Samson Dauda said.
“In bodybuilding standpoint when you go pose for pose and start judging that’s a different situation. But a whole world of just freak factor he has it in spades.”
Neckzilla’s route to the new league is often compared to Michal Krizo’s as he decided to move to the NPC when he earned his pro card at the 2022 Amateur Olympia Italy. Though Krizo brings the combination of definition, conditioning, and balance, the latter is something Neckzilla seems to be lacking, according to Dauda.
“Being there, when you are there you see it. It wasn’t close (between Rubiel and Krizo). It wasn’t because of size and conditioning, it’s just that balance where Krizo is a lot more balanced between upper body and lower body but with him when he walks out it’s almost like the lower body and the upper body belongs to two different people. I would have had Nathan ahead of him.”
Samson Dauda isn’t the only one who couldn’t help but notice the potential that Rubiel Mosquera possesses. Chris Cormier has been speaking up about Neckzilla and believes the world has never seen a physique like his. While many connoisseurs of the sport want to pick him apart, Cormier feels that Mosquera is only getting started and will make waves in the future.
As one of the most prominent Men’s Open bodybuilders in the division, it speaks to Rubiel Mosquera’s potential that someone like Samson Dauda, who is the third-best bodybuilder in the world, deems him one of the freakiest athletes of our generation. Time will tell how Rubiel Mosquera performs in the Men’s Open, but with a trainer like Chris Cormier guiding him, many fans believe he’ll go far.
