Other Strongman Events: Formats Beyond the Core Disciplines
Events that fall outside the core strongman disciplines, including pressing, rowing and assorted strength tests.
Some strongman events fall outside the core disciplines of pressing, pulling, carrying and loading. This category gathers the assorted strength tests that appear from contest to contest, from bench-style presses and heavy rows to one-off novelty events designed for a particular show.
Because these events vary so widely, there is no single rulebook. What they share is that they extend the sport beyond its familiar staples, giving promoters room to surprise the athletes and test qualities the regular events do not.
