The 2023 Arnold Strongwoman Classic, which took place in Columbus, Ohio, on March 3-4, 2023, witnessed an exhilarating performance by two of the most renowned strength athletes in the world, Tamara Walcott and Victoria Long. After a relatively lackluster day one, both women returned with a vengeance on day two. Long broke the Elephant Bar Deadlift World Record with a lift of 651 pounds. Walcott matched the record shortly after.

Victoria Long, the reigning 2022 Arnold Strongwoman Classic Champion, set the new world record with a lift of 651 pounds. Utilizing lifting straps, Long demonstrated remarkable strength and form in executing the lift, setting a new standard for Strongwoman.

However, Walcott, who had held the previous world record with a lift of 641 pounds at the 2022 Arnold Strongwoman Classic, was not to be outdone. Just one minute after Long’s lift, Walcott stepped up to the bar and, without the aid of lifting straps, lifted the same weight with ease, matching Long’s record-setting feat.

Interestingly, the two athletes used different techniques in achieving their lifts, with Long opting to use lifting straps while Walcott performed the lift without them. This further highlights the exceptional strength and technique demonstrated by both women in breaking the world record.

The two athletes were not alone in their impressive performances, however. Andrea Thompson, another highly respected Strongwoman athlete, also lifted more than the previous world record, locking out 646 pounds. Nevertheless, it was Long and Walcott who stole the show, cementing their places in the history of Strongwoman.

The 2023 Arnold Strongwoman Classic is still taking place, so it is still unknown in which position Tamara Walcott or Victoria Long will finish. However, their incredible performance on the deadlift has given them a huge point boost. So, despite their relatively bad performances on day one, they are still in contention for gold or podium places.

Tamara Walcott and Victoria Long have set a new standard in Strongwoman, inspiring future generations of Strongwomen to push their limits and strive for greatness. However, it is most likely that Tamara and Victoria will also grow even more hunger to further improve the record and hold it on their own.
