Teammates Tia-Clair Toomey and Mat Fraser continued their reign of dominance with each earning another win at the 2020 CrossFit Games. Following their dominant performances, each athlete has taken some time to reflect on how things have gone.
Heading into the 2020 CrossFit Games, fans were unsure what to expect from the change in format to this year’s Games. However there was one thing that seemed like certainty, and that was the fact that Tia-Clair Toomey and Mat Fraser would be successful during the competition. This was only made more certain heading into the finals, as the respective 4 and 5-time winners of the Games dominated Stage One of the contest, making it seem like a surefire bet that they would win again.

This would prove true, as they each crushed their opposition, again proving to the world their superiority in CrossFit. A few days after the conclusion of Stage Two of the Games, Tia-Clair took to her Instagram with a heartfelt message. Here she reflected on her time at the Ranch, while also paying a tremendous amount of respect to Fraser, complimenting his skills.
“Mat Fraser is like the brother I never had & I couldn’t be more proud of him and everything he has achieved.
As friends & training partners we have gone through so much together. The adversity we faced brought us closer than ever and we attacked every challenge head on without any hesitation.
Fraser is an unstoppable force that I have watched get better and better every single day and it is truly inspiring to have witnessed and be apart of.
He is hands down, without any argument, the most dominant male Crossfit athlete to have ever competed and he just keeps raising the bar to even higher heights.
Here is to being in a league of your own. 😘”
This is a fair post of appreciation, considering that Mat Fraser has seemed to find no peers during his time competing in the Games. He too showed some appreciation for Tia-Clair Toomey in the days following the conclusion of the contest. His post was not nearly as mushy, but his appreciation and admiration for her is still evident.
“Couldn’t have asked for a better way to the end the weekend (and the season) than working out alongside my training partner, @tiaclair1.”
It is crazy to think that the two Fittest on Earth® train together and have such a close relationship. If iron sharpens iron, it is no surprise that Mat Fraser and Tia-Clair Toomey are so successful.
