The 2025 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships took place on January 26th, featuring 24 athletes in total. The lightest out of the bunch was Tiffany Chapon, coming in as a U47KG athlete. However, she proved that she is one of the greatest pound-for-pound powerlifters in the world, having completed multiple feats of strength. The most impressive one was her 101.5-kilogram (223.7-pound) raw bench press, which marked a new IPF World Record.

Tiffany Chapon was coming into the bench press following a near miss on a record-breaking squat. So, she was determined not to let it affect her negatively, as she had another record in sight. However, Tiffany first had to get her opener out of the way, which is why she crushed a 95-kilogram (209.4-pound) bench press on her first attempt.

Once that was done, Tiffany Chapon could afford to take a risk and go for the World Record Bench Press on the second attempt. For that reason, she decided to load 101.5 kilograms (223.7 pounds) on the bar. She put on a pair of wrist wraps and laid down on the bench. Tiffany then controlled the bar down to her chest and started pressing it back up. Her left arm had no trouble lifting the weight, but her right arm was lagging behind. Luckily, although it was clearly a big grind, Tiffany managed to set a new World Record.

Just a few minutes later Tiffany Chapon came out to attempt her final bench press of 104 kilograms (229.2 pounds). Unfortunately, her previous attempt seemingly took out the majority of her energy, leaving Chapon unable to complete the lift.

Tiffany Chapon’s Full Performance

Despite setting a new bench press IPF World Record, Tiffany Chapon likely hoped to perform better in the other two events. She missed her final squat attempt, as well as her second and third attempts on the deadlift. So, there is clearly more room for Tiffany to improve, which is an incredible incentive considering how impressive she already is.
