How to read these figures

• Sinclair score. The total scaled for bodyweight with the IWF's 2025 to 2028 coefficients, so lifters from different classes sit on one scale. Women and men have separate formulas.
• Place in its class. Where the best total stands among every lifter with a total in that class on this site, on the IWF class list in force at the time.
• Attempts made. The share of all snatch or clean and jerk attempts the lifter made. At senior World Championships and Olympic Games since 1998, lifters make 58% of snatches and 56% of clean and jerks.
• Snatch as a share of clean and jerk. The snatch divided by the clean and jerk at the best total. It describes the shape of a lifter, not strength, so it is not in bold; eight in ten men lifting in national federation meets sit between 71% and 86%.
• World records held now. Records on the IWF class list in force since 1 August 2026. A record set in a class that list retired does not carry over, so a past record holder can show none.

Chen Lijun and Elson Brechtefeld never lifted in the same class at the same competition. The results here run from 2010 to 2024 for Chen Lijun and 2009 to 2021 for Elson Brechtefeld, so the side by side figures and the chart are the comparison.

The Sinclair score at each competition: the total scaled for bodyweight, so lifters from different classes sit on one scale. Competitions that ended without a total or a bodyweight have no point.
