The 2020 CrossFit Open season continues to roll on, despite it being Halloween. This is the official workout for the 20.4, as well as a recap of what happened in the announcement.

The 20.4 is the fourth of five weeks of workouts making up the CrossFit Open. So far, all the workouts have been incredibly intense, with each one surpassing the last. Therefore, it was to be expected that this week would be no different, as athletes gather to see what the workout will be.

This week, the setting for the live announcement takes place from Diablo CrossFit, out of Pleasant Hill, California. This is a fitting environment for the 20.4, as the announcement does come on Halloween. Furthermore they streamed the whole thing on their various social media outlets, including YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

Along with the announcement of the 20.4, there was a three-way competition going on, completing the workout. CrossFit athletes Ben Smith, Sean Sweeney, and Jason Carroll went head-to-head-to-head, to see who could get the best score in the workout.

Also, Ben Smith Completely Crushed The Competition

Unlike other CrossFit Open live announcements, the 20.4 was featuring three athletes. Moreover, they were competing for cash, thanks to a local Toyota dealership. The first person to finish got $2000, with the second place winner earning $1000.

However, from the start it was clear how things would go. Ben Smith was the first one to complete the box jumps, and maintained his lead from there. Sean Sweeney had some setbacks, getting penalties for his form in various spots. On the other hand, both he and Jason Carroll struggled on the final set of clean and jerks. Carroll was unable to finish, with Sweeney barely making the time, and missing a rep.
