Deadlift for Reps
The deadlift, just the name itself says everything. if Ronnie Coleman was a Strongman he would have probably said “everyone wanna be a Strongman, but don’t no do no heavy ass deadlifts” or something like that. The deadlift is a classic Strongman event and needs no explanation. The rules were; you get a barbell loaded with 350kg and you have 60 seconds to bang out as many reps as you can in that time frame. This event saw a 3-way tie for the first place with Tom Stoltman, Andy Bishop and Graham Hicks all doing eight reps.
- Tom Stoltman – eight reps (T-first)
- Andy Bishop – eight reps (T-first)
- Graham Hicks – eight reps (T-first)
- Pa O’Dwyer – six reps (T-fourth)
- Mark Felix – six reps (T-fourth)
- Luke Stoltman – four reps (T-sixth)
- Shane Flowers – four reps (T-sixth)
- Andy Black – four reps (T-sixth)
- Paul Smith – three reps (T-ninth)
- Desmond Gahan – three reps (T-ninth)
Loading Race
After 3 events, it was time for some cardio in form of a loading race. Competitors had to carry a sandbag, a barrel, and a large tire down a 20 meter course in the quickest time possible. The events were done with two men at a time going head to head. Winner- Tom Stoltman with 35.01 seconds followed by Luke Stoltman with 36.25 seconds.
- Tom Stoltman – 35.01 seconds
- Luke Stoltman – 36.25 seconds
- Shane Flowers – 37.52 seconds
- Desmond Gahan – 39.09 seconds
- Adam Bishop – 39.79 seconds
- Paul Smith – 40.16 seconds
- Graham Hicks – 40.95 seconds
- Andy Black – 43.75 seconds
- Pa O’Dwyer – 45.16 seconds
- Mark Felix – 45.58 seconds
Atlas Stone
It is almost an unwritten rule that a Strongman show finishes with a dramatic head-to-head battle in the Atlas stones and yesterday was no different. At this point, Graham Hicks and Adam Bishop needed in the stones for either of them to win Britain’s Strongest Man again(Bishop BSM ’20 winner, Hicks BSM ’19 winner) and they needed to hope that Tom Stoltman( Atlas Stone world record holder) somehow gets a brain fart and fails this event. Unfortunately, Tom came in shape and won the events with five stones in under 20 seconds.
- Tom Stoltman – five in 18.9 seconds
- Graham Hicks – five in 20.88 seconds
- Andy Black – five in 22.12 seconds
- Adam Bishop – five in 22.33 seconds
- Luke Stoltman – five in 23.58 seconds
- Pa O’Dwyer – five in 24.24 seconds
- Shane Flowers – five in 25.05 seconds
- Mark Felix – five in 25.27 seconds
- Paul Smith – five in 30.5 seconds
- Desmond Gahan – four in 33.12 seconds
